EROSION:ESPASMO is an audiovisual live set by EFE CE ELE that explores erosion as a sonic, visual, and material process. The work investigates the construction and destruction of virtual forms that evoke organic creatures, landscapes, and inert objects, creating an artificial-organic territory in continuous transformation. Through experimental electronics, ambient textures, electroacoustic techniques, unstable rhythmic pulses, creative coding, particle systems, and real-time imagery, sound and visuals evolve together as forms appear, mutate, degrade, and dissolve. Part of the visual language emerges from microscopy-based materials, synthetic entities, and digital residue, shifting seamlessly between living organisms and abstract environments.

The piece reflects on the transformation of territories through cycles of organic life and death, as well as the impact of contemporary models of consumption and survival. Crucially, EROSION:ESPASMO holds a central contradiction: it is created through digital media while questioning the extractivist infrastructures that make these technologies possible.

Conceived for a dark space with a professional sound system and a large visual screen, EROSION:ESPASMO is presented as a 40–60 minute live set. Performing from a central table facing the audience, EFE CE ELE operates sound and image simultaneously in real time through a minimal stage setup. Rather than presenting a fixed audiovisual object, the piece unfolds as an active, living process of erosion where boundaries between landscape, creature, data, and digital matter remain perpetually unstable.

EROSION:ESPASMO AV Live Set includes music from Efe Ce Ele's Music Releases:

A modular, site-specific installation that explores the relationship between micro and macro ecologies through ecospheric capsules housing mosses, ferns, and fungi.

Each capsule is equipped with internal and external sensors that simulate artificial proprioception and exteroception, allowing environmental stimuli—such as humidity, temperature, sound, and CO₂ pollution—to alter its surroundings.

The conditions within each capsule are translated into real-time data that drives the ambient sound and lighting, operating as a bio-interactive system.

"Listening is one of the greatest acts of affection.

Making visible is one of the most political.

Feeling, in the broadest sense of the word, is what allows us to connect to the <whole> of which we are a part.

Every particle, every spore, every breath that does not go unnoticed is an acknowledgment that we are bound to an endless web of interactions, connections, and ties—which, however supremely improbable, have allowed us to be alive today."

Erosion is an audiovisual work in the formats of Installation and AV Live Show, in which I investigate the construction and destruction of virtual forms that allude to organic creatures, landscapes and inert objects. It is an audiovisual plastic research in which I think about the transformations that territories undergo in the cycles of organic life and death, how the constitution of the landscape depends on these cycles and how the current consumption-survival model of humanity intervenes in these transformations.

I am developing the work entirely from programming, programming particle systems that allow me to generate this type of forms that transit between the organic and the inorganic. Beyond the plasticity that is possible through this medium, I find it interesting to think of this work made entirely in digital-media as a contradiction, since in some way it exists thanks to the extractivist model of which it speaks: it depends on the technology developed based on mining, excessive consumption of water resources and the technology that is at the center of this model and has been normalized as an everyday tool in humanity.

Third work of Metastasis series (re-version 2024). Installation and Performance with incubation of vegetal biological material based on the questions: How to interact with imperceptible organisms? What is the relationship between hygiene and extermination?

In its first version I have collected the biological material day by day, taking organic-garbage from what I cooked in the artistic residence (The Willows Nest, Berlin) to re-signify the everydayness of waste, or to think (perhaps) of another possible link with everyday waste. For later versions I compose the work with organic waste collected from different sites, mainly kitchens, both open to the public and private.

I place each sample in a petri dish to evaluate its decomposition, the samples are monitored in real time using a digital microscope used as an instrument of the performer. The performance takes place with the image of the microscope being translated into data that is used to generate/manipulate image, sound and lights in real time. It is thus an immersive performance, in which for a few minutes people are surrounded by an environment that usually goes unnoticed, where the invisible universe of the microscopic becomes ephemerally our habitable and perceptible space.

I believe that if we relate to waste from other perspectives, if we look at the living within the contaminated, if we interact with what goes unnoticed or generates rejection; we can approach new ethics and more affectionate political relationships with our environment. Starting from our daily life we can take the first step to give visibility, that step is to see, in/with all the senses.

Others is an Audiovisual Live Show in which I create immersive, real-time environments where sound and imagery evolve in a constant state of transformation, ranging from figurative aliens to abstract figures and lights. The audience is immersed in an impactful set spanning from ambient sounds to experimental dance music. The performance explores the intersection of living creatures and virtual synthetic entities, showcasing their coexistence in a poetic and speculative way of view, alluding to sensitivity and body experience beyond speech and rationality.

This project is also connected to the research on live cinema and abstract animation, in which I explore possible ways to create visual music and live visual music through generative processes related to organic matter and biological (micro/macro) creatures.

Work developed by collecting and recording biological matter, particularly flowers, from which I generate immersive audiovisual "environments". The material collected is recorded using a digital microscope and then processed to create audiovisual elements by translating its shape, color and size into data. When the biomaterial is turned into data I use it as a source to generate sounds and images that are composed to interact with generative image codes and sound-synthesizers, thus becoming a biosynthetic sound and visual work.

This project is also connected to the research on live cinema and abstract animation, in which I explore possible ways to create visual music and live visual music through generative processes related to organic matter and biological (micro/macro) creatures.

Work conceived as a metaphor for the virtual construction of territories, physical spaces that are deconstructed from the politics and arbitrariness of thought. It is made from the registration and resignification of satellite and topographic images that are taken as input, processed and put into dialogue with digital resources to generate electronically mediated audiovisual landscapes in real time.

"i'm a real child!" Pinoccio.

In-Vitro is a work that integrates biology and robotics, in which various techniques and disciplines are fused as metaphorical motors on the creation of bodies. It is an installation that is born from an hybrid investigation (theoretical, aesthetic, plastic) in which I look into the possibilities of contemporary art as an actor in philosophical discussions such as biopower, the ways of inhabiting the body, the gestation of it and its normalization / standardization.

It is a robotic sculpture that projects an audiovisual space, in which sounds and images are products of the electromechanical movements of the android and the microorganisms that compose it. The movement is the product of the sensing of CO2 (carbon dioxide) generated by the microorganisms that inhabit the android's tissue, whose values excite programmed modules in the brain-microcontroller of the robot in question. In turn, these movements and frictions are electronically amplified to generate an immersive sound space.

This installation/sculpture is a synthetic product between art, science, philosophy and technology, which ultimately alludes to the idea of life.

Elevación is a continuation of the works in which I investigate the construction of bodies, especially what passes through us in the corporality that we inhabit. I specifically think of this work as a cartography of the body as a territory, a body in which positivist medicine, colonialism and patriarchy (among many other things) limit the possibilities of a territory that tries to expand in its shadows and reflections.

The work is constructed with animal flesh because I am interested in putting on the table the implication that these reflections have on other non-human bodies. Although I think mainly of the human body as a territory, I also think that these corporal territories of humanity interact with non-human bodies and exert the same forces (violence) that they exert on themselves.

It is elevation (Elevación) because it is an imaginary, exalted, idealized and thought-out territoriality. Thinking about the body is what defines it the most; having the possibility of thinking about the body is having the possibility of saying it in words that break it, restrict it, and describe it by force. .

Bio-art installation thought from the limits of life, where the decomposition of meat is sensed by a camera and interpreted by an algorithm which is the soul of the audiovisual environment. The different kinds of ecosystems are generative organisms programmed to interact with the main algorithm and to transform their own being as the meat or its interpretation changes.

The main concept of Metastasis Series is migration and colonialism. I use the idea of metastasis as a metaphor, metastasis is the propagation of cells from one organ thru another by the blood system. Especially when we talk about colonialism, this “migration” system with the intention of occupying a territory without the intention of caring for the previous habitants / conditions / environments, is very similar to the metastasis propagation of cells in cancer.

Same as the other works that were part of my thesis Atrocidades, this work is constructed with animal flesh, because I am interested in putting on the table the implication that these reflections have on other non-human bodies. Although I think mainly of the human body as a territory, I also think that these corporal territories of humanity interact with non-human bodies and exert the same forces (violence) that they exert on themselves.
